Semarang, August 25, 2025<\/strong> \u2014 The Biotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), successfully hosted an online Visiting Professor program via Zoom. This event was part of the World Class University Program and featured Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aizi Nor Mazila Ramli<\/strong>, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah.<\/p>\n

Carrying the theme \u201cAdvancing Biotechnology Through Enzyme Technology and Protein Engineering\u201d<\/em>, the event aimed to enrich academic and research insights for both students and lecturers in the field of biotechnology, particularly in the application of enzyme technology and protein engineering for modern biotechnology innovations. The session, chaired by Prof. Dr. Hermin Pancasakti Kusumaningrum, S.Si., M.Si.<\/strong>, was highly interactive and engaging.<\/p>\n

The event attracted more than 100 participants from diverse backgrounds. The large number of questions raised reflected the high enthusiasm for the topics presented. In her lecture, Prof. Aizi explained the fundamental concepts of enzymes, their mechanisms of action, and applications in both research and industry. She also highlighted various genetic engineering techniques, challenges in developing enzymes for industrial needs, and her latest research on Bromelain enzymes from different pineapple varieties<\/strong> as promising biotechnology candidates, enzymes from edible bird\u2019s nests<\/strong> with significant development potential, and recent advances in protein engineering.<\/p>\n

The online event was held on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 10:00 to 12:00 WIB (UTC+7)<\/strong>, and was open to the public. It was moderated by Nurina Tahta A. M., S.Si., M.Biotech.<\/strong>, lecturer at UNDIP\u2019s Biotechnology Study Program, and hosted by Jordan Mesakh<\/strong>, who ensured a lively and dynamic discussion.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis Visiting Professor program not only broadens the academic horizons of students but also opens opportunities for international collaboration in biotechnology, particularly in enzyme research and protein engineering,\u201d said Dr. Sri Pujiyanto, S.Si., M.Si.<\/strong>, Head of the Biotechnology Study Program, UNDIP.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

With its warm and interactive discussions, the program is expected to inspire students and young researchers to further pursue biotechnology innovations. Through this initiative, UNDIP\u2019s Biotechnology Study Program also hopes to expand opportunities for collaboration, including joint research, student exchanges (inbound and outbound), and stronger academic networking among lecturers and researchers. This activity is part of the World Class University (WCU) Program<\/strong> of Diponegoro University<\/strong>, funded by non-APBN sources through the Faculty of Science and Mathematics<\/strong>, under contract number 700m\/UN7.F8\/PP\/V\/2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
